You ever write a thing with the coolest people ever and then sit under a billboard with a couple of them cool people all satisfied cause it’s an ad for the thing you wrote and you just gotta celebrate it? Cause I did.

The summer I was 18, my mom had split with my dad, and I lived w/her in a one room house ‘cuz that’s all the rent she could afford. I was never ashamed, because I knew what it had taken for her to leave. During the State Fair, she got us tickets to every concert that week. We saw
every single concert together and I had the time of my life. I’m sitting here at the Fair now w/my own kids, hearing the concert going in the Grandstand, remembering that time w/my mom, and how much those tix must have cost her. I really love my mom to bits. ❤️
@Debkrol @requainn Primarily because the Upper Missouri is my homeland and where I live now. 😂 But you know, two sites ain’t gonna’ hurt nobody, right? 😉
@Indigenia Why not along the Klamath River mouth at @requainn which is owned by local tribal members? I'd come to that one.
@goraina Totally agree with your emphasis, so not disagreeing, however your phrasing reminded me of @campbellwhyte’s beautiful recent piece.
@goraina I continue to campaign to get publishers, as well as journalists and reviewers, to stop calling comics artists “illustrators.” I’ve gotten one writer about comics at the NY Times to say “drawn by” and not “illustrated by.”
Indigenous writer’s retreat along the Missouri River. Putting that out into the Universe. 💙 . . . also in case some billionaire decides space trips are passé. 🤷🏽♀️
