@sophieinspace's 'The Girl Who Speaks Bear' finished for @CILIPCKG. I'm particularly fond of these books, they take me back to my childhood. One of my 1st favourite remembered books was a book of folklore tales which then led me to Homer & a love of Greek Mythology.
@sophieinspace Bog Child by @sdowdtrust will always be the finest book ever written! That time. And that coming of age. And first love. And such fantastic writing. Honourable mentions to the genius of Maggot Moon, Tamar and The Graveyard Book.
@sophieinspace Tamar by Mal Peet, Postcards From No Man's Land by Aidan Chambers and Skellig by David Almond are 3 of my fave books of all time. They're my fave winners without doubt, all remarkable books, I think a lot of others struggle to come even close.
@sophieinspace The Owl Service, Millions by @frankcottrell_b, Junk by @MelvinBurgess and Postcards From No Man’s Land. Oh and The Bunker Diary.
By Ash, Oak and Thorn is truly delightful! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this gorgeous gem from @M_Z_Harrison (pub: @chickenhsebooks). Full review at: https://t.co/EKH9RocaO4 P. S. Moss is my Hidden Folk kindred spirit - who will yours be?! 🍃
I'm honoured to be hosting the #ByAshOakAndThorn tour today. @M_Z_Harrison's incredible quest entangles folklore, the natural wild world & humanity in an eco-fable that calls us all to look again & to change. @chickenhsebooks #IndieBookoftheMonth

@HMCPS @PiersTorday @WelshDragonParr @rosswelford @afharrold @sophieinspace @_Reading_Rocks_ @MrEPrimary Love to see that list - i can see some - our UKS2 boys seem to think i was mean when i ordered some books - they're not Assassins Creed - apparently anything else isn't ok. Have got one reading Windrush Child to me and he's really happy with it.
@TisdallLaura @sophieinspace Last year’s winner, I should say, was the wonderful Lark by @anthony_mcgowan. Funnily enough I don’t remember reading any of the contemporary winners when I was a child! I don’t think I had heard of the Medal anyway.
@sophieinspace Brendon Chase is also brilliant,I asked my wife to sew me BB’s cowslip monogram, love @anthony_mcgowan Lark, @neilhimself The Graveyard Book, @PhilipPullman Northern Lights,Jan Mark’s Thunder and Lightnings, Alan Garner’s The Owl Service and Lucy M Boston’s Stranger At Green Knowe
