Happy #DarkSouls10thAnniversary! Lots I could say about my fave game, but I'll just express my appreciation for its extremely memorable monster designs. It didn't shy away from weird or awkward, but it didn't feel random, either. DS made well-tread monster concepts feel fresh!
Imagining the superhuman control necessary not to tell every person you meet, for 19 years, that you are dating Elvira
@Zerochan The complaints about Touhou for this reason are the weirdest thing since... Official Touhou games have like literally no fanservice? Speaks more about the people complaining that about Touhou.
@Richmond_Lee @NateMing it was such a great game play idea, as depending on which ninja you freed different level became easier. i seem to remember the green ninja walking on water, the pink sticking to walls etc. it made for a nice way not to play the same first few levels over and over.
@MinovskyArticle Perspectives on the South from outside always end up feeling so warped. Everything's either glitzy Dallas-esque tycoon playgrounds or creepy dirtholes. Meanwhile I'm growing up in Georgia, playing Final Fantasy Tactics in a normal-ass house while listening to the Cranberries.
Watching Pumpkinhead and howling at it's depiction of the 1980's American South as one big Steinbeck era dustbowl depression shanty town.
Really interesting to hear Arkane's designers talking about Deathloop. They wanted a game where people were 'replaying' it from the start. The Dishonored games were designed to be replayed and explored, but many players read that first fumbling playthrough as a final, graded exam
Always interesting to see how design ideas were reused and modified in Tôei, according to the medium and designer's sensibilities (left is The White Serpent, right is Rainbow Sentai Robin - the character designer is probably Keiichirô Kimura)
Life wise the past few months have been super stressful but I've seen so many good things occur for friends and some family. Even those blessings I find in my own life are sparkling gems, especially friends and fostering new hobbies. Feels good to feel good.
@htGOIW Quality of anime fell down due to stagnating wages and inhumane schedules, but ok to this youtube reactor who wants to hate on tools that help people make stuf...
