Lenny Henry: working class kid wins TV talent show at 16, does TV Black + White Minstrel Show, tours RAF bases, does kids TV, creates 1 of 1st black sitcoms, spearheads international charity, gets a PhD and appears in Shakespeare plays. So you gammon pigshit what have you done?
This is the kind of solidarity we need to be building and demonstrating in every community across the UK. Glasgow showing how its done.
@Peston Have you spoken to any teachers? Oh no, I forgot, that would be actual journalism. Fuck's sake, man, you're a drip tray for the Government.
@Peston 1. Teachers were still teaching remotely during lockdown, alongside in-person teaching of the children of the vastly expanded pool of essential workers. 2. You are a dickhead.
@guardian Well the whole problem with creative arts at degree level and above, is that it teaches people how to think critically, which is the enemy of right wing politics - the so called "hard" subjects are mostly an excersize in memory, rather than critical thinking
That pin-striped snake Jacob Rees-Mogg explaining how requiring voter ID at polling stations will prevent a problem that hasn't yet arisen made me choke on my lunch. It's a blatant attempt to stop poor people voting, and nothing else.
@JacobTurnerArt @PilotTVPod Procrotic should be an adjective for critics with huge gaps in knowledge
@samatlounge 1. Luck 2. A publisher that actually wants to promote your book (seems to be increasingly rare) 3. Time and energy to promote your own book 4. If you've got a massive following on social media, who in turn you can get to write book reviews for you - that makes a big difference
@PilotTVPod Just to be clear, the animation style of Invincible is Anime, which is VERY, VERY popular and ubiquitous, and Invincible is one of the best examples of this style of animation because it's so well animated, even if it's not the most authentic.
@PilotTVPod I think you need an Anime contributor, this week's snobbery was unbearable. Still love you loads.
@mrmarksteel Can we have a huge sign on our side of the border with England reading "I'm with Stupid ->" ?
It's not true that Tories hate art. They don't! They just want to prevent *new* art from being made, because it could cause the art they own to depreciate.
